Classic Rock Music ? Does anyone play it now a days ?

We used to have a forum on Amazon discussing Classic Rock music .. there were a few of us old timers from time to time that had to correct a few of these younguns' .. as to what rock was about .. it was a concept ..actually brought about by Chuck Berry ..the Rock Man himself .. even tho' Bill Haley had the first song " Rock around the Clock " and 2 forerunners Rosetta Tharpe , also Robert Johnson (delta blues) Jimmie Rodgers ? and one could argue that a couple of Hank Williams Sr's songs can be played as rock & roll ..case and point " Move it on Over ' . were before him and Elvis .." the King ! " the entertainer took it to new heights with Hound dog & Jailhouse Rock but he went on to be a product of Hollywood ..then there was Jerry Lee Lewis..whole lotta' shakin' goin' on " but it was Chuck who defined it in the song " Rock & Roll Music ... " Just let me play that rock & roll music ..any ol way you choose it ...it's got a back beat ..you can't blues it ..any ol time you use it ..it's got to be rock & roll music ..if you wanna dance with me Now .. there are the rules..it has a driving back beat.. and packed full of energy then there was the simple man Buddy Holley ..following Chuck's steps ..he gave us some beautiful ballads to enjoy and some get up and go attitude .. his tunes are still enjoyed today ... what some classics ! .. simple, driven and pure After the untimely demise of Holley in 59' .. Elvis popularity had waned some in the rock charts by 62 & 63 ' even tho' some of his sales were still soaring ..and his 1968 Comeback was enjoyed by all ages , but he was about to find out just what domination meant and While Elvis was in Hollywood making several films over the years ..his absence from the mainstream charts it made made the way for the British Invasion and the introduction of The Beatles to be the mainstay for the next few years .. everyone wanted to be as they were ..music. style , haircuts , ( my Dad said ' what haircuts ? '' LOL ) dress and all .. but I wasn't caught up in the hype of Beatlemania .. ( well maybe a little ) I loved their beautiful harmonies and such sweet awesome guitar music .. I was hooked .. ! after the song "From me to you " and their rendition of "Rock & Roll Music " is what got me interested in the guitar .. then such great guitar licks as ' Day Tripper ' and several other great songs .. motivated me to play their music. and later on to write my own .. my Dad took an interest after hearing me play his guitar ..so he sent me to music school for a year .. to learn how to read music and later on how to write it ... mostly self taught there .. practicing with the Beatle records using my own brand of tablature also..I mastered some mighty rock riffs of the day Jimi Hendrix was a fav too .. as was so many and too many to name ... The Holley's , Bad Company , Led Zeppelin .. to name a few ... Anyway to get to the answer of my column ... YES ! ... there are a few that still play classic rock or rock and roll ... ME ! for One .... and here is a simple song called Do Ya ' I only added lead guitar and vocals to it .. Do Ya' ? here are the lyrics .. do ya feel it it ? soaking in your bones do you sing as .. though it's the very last song can you sing the blues .. as tho' you're all alone are you as high , as the rolling stones play my rock & roll music just to get thru the day other kinds of so called music is turning all of our hair grey I don't know of any other way than to sing the blues 5 am is the new midnight put on your dancin' shoes You got to feel it to play rock & roll it goes much deeper than your windswept soul Chuck Berry gave us the rules ..Buddy Holley took us to school the Beatles they did rule .. Led Zeppelin was no fool do ya feel it it ? soaking in your bones do you sing as .. though it's the very last song play my rock & roll music just to get thru the day other kinds of so called music is turning all of our hair grey (c) 2010-2013 Bkeymusic .. BMI ... It is said by most of the old timers that rock & roll died in the 80's ? .. what is your take ?
